QUARTERLY LABOUR FORCE STATISTICS (QLFS)
QLFS contains all of the series of the paper publication.
In Part I of the paper publication refering to the labour force indicators by country, the tables show a maximum of 23 quarters, and 3 years while monthly, quarterly and annual data are included on the CD-ROM database if they are available.
In Part II of the publication, the tables on standardised unemployment rates show 48 months, 48 quarters and 25 years while all data available since 1965 are included on the CD-ROM.
In the annex of the printed publication annual population figures are shown for 16 years while all annual population figures available are included on the CD-ROM.
The data on labour force indicators are currently (as of June 2004) given for 20 OECD Member countries. Standardised Unemployment rates are given for 21 OECD Member countries, and for three groups of countries. Total population figures are given for all 29 OECD countries.

2.1 The Countries and Area Totals
The 20 OECD Member countries for which labour force indicators are included are: Canada, United States, Australia, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Austria, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom.
The 21 OECD Member countries for which Standardised Unemployment rates are available are: Canada, United States, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and United Kingdom.
The OECD Member countries are: Canada, Mexico, United States, Australia, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom.
The 3 total areas for which Standardised Unemployment rates are shown are:
OECD-Total: Canada, United States, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom.
EU15 (countries of the European Union):
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and United Kingdom.
Note: Greece is included in the EU15 total but no rate is published for this country.
Major Seven (the group of seven most industrialised nations): Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, and United States.
2.2 The Data
The data consist of time series showing the evolution of labour force indicators for 20 OECD Member countries. The periodicities of the data are monthly, quarterly, and annual, subject to availability.
The data are organised according to a standard subject classification under the main headings listed below. These are similar, but not identical, to the subject headings of the paper publication.
All series which appear in Part I Labour force indicators by country of the paper publication can be found in QLFS under the appropriate subject heading. The main subject headings corresponding to Part I of the paper publication are:
