SOURCES OF INFORMATION
The data were derived from output data reported by national statistical offices together with UNIDO estimates for international trade based on the United Nations Commodity Trade data.
UPDATING THE DATABASE
Updates of the database will be made yearly and will contain data for at least one additional year for most of the countries and may also include additional countries. Data revisions and extensions in coverage may go as far back as 1990.
The database contains data on the following eight items:
OUTPUT refers to the total domestic output produced by the establishments covered by annual industrial surveys. It is measured as census output in most cases.
IMPORTS from WORLD are valued at c.i.f. prices. For several countries they include imports for re-exports.
EXPORTS to WORLD are valued at f.o.b. prices. For several countries they include re-exports.
CONSUMPTION (output + imports - exports).
IMPORTS from DEVELOPING Countries.
IMPORTS from DEVELOPED Countries.
EXPORTS to DEVELOPING Countries.
EXPORTS to DEVELOPED Countries.
These data pertain to manufacturing industries classified at the 4-digit level of ISIC (Revision 3).
ISIC is the United Nations International Standard Industrial Classification Code at the 4-digit level.
